CFD results

Postby Pramod Naik » Mon Jul 20, 2015 11:53 am

Hello,

I am modelling a green house with many radiators kept inside to maintain certain temperature. I want to run it in two conditions. One for summer design week and one for winter design week. The summer condition results are pretty convincing but the results for winter conditions are not looking quite right. I am getting very low temperature even near radiator which is set to maintain 140 F tempr. I have imported Energy Plus simulated results for surface temperature and air flow. The windows are kept closed. Can anyone guess what might be the problem?

Thanks!
Pramod

Hey Pramod,

E+ does not take into account that your radiator is located near the wall. And CFD does not change the surface temperatures due to the radiator. Surface temperatures are an Input in CFD, so it stays the same.

I would assume a higher temperature next to the radiator before you run the CFD. For example by inserting a subsurface with a higher surface temperature.

Christian R.
